Motherboard: ASRock H97M Anniversary Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($67.89 @ OutletPC)

Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.99 @ Micro Center)

Total: $783.20

heres my build so far. my budget is $800, i really dont see why i would need to spend more but, if i have to, i guess i can. I already have a 1080p monitor but i might do some 1440p downsampling stuff. I'll be playing CS:GO, bioshock infinite, cities skyline, and maybe GTA if the pc can handle it. i dont really need an SSD to be honest, saving 20 seconds for an extra 80$ doesnt really appeal to me, but as before, i am open to suggestions.

Only thing i'd change is to a WD blue instead of the baracuda.

Also that PSU, for that price i'd get either an XFX 80+ gold model or one of EVGA's G2 PSUs. 550ws should be more than enough for this system.

Their G1 lineup is not the best...

yeh, seriously though OP.

Even at 1080p you can go above the 3.5-4GB limit with GTA5... that VRAM will come in handy.

He already has a 1080p monitor, it's written in the OP.

Oh, sorry, I thought that meant he had one planned or something, I'm really tired.

Yeah... no. I would go with a 970 over a 390. Nvidia is the better brand for graphics cards.

No reason to, they perform about the same and cost about the same. This system will also be used for 1080p.

Don't mean to sound like a douche, but I don't find this a very good build.

For starters, the ram is from a no name company, I wouldn't use it.

Second, just an ssd is retarded. hdd takes priority over ssd in 800- builds in my opinion.

Also a 970 is much better than a 280x.

Also don't know why you're including a disk drive and a xeon. In my opinion only those interested in doing intense video editing should get a Xeon.

@Inception9269

RAM is RAM, even if from a no name company you must remember that there is only like 3-4 companies MAKING the ram on the planet... so, in most cases, no-name companies are just buying from them anyway.

when it comes to RAM, there need to be a LOT of problems for it to be a bad buy. As long as CAS latencies and MHz isnt too bad, its a good buy

Seriously? thats the reason?

R9 390 performance better, have 8GB instead of 3.5GB useful, Nvidia does have nice options, like the GTX 980 Ti, but saying "Nvidia is the best", is a bit fanboyism.

What this guy said

Nvidia is not the better brand for graphics cards. Period.

Both AMD and Nvidia have their share of faults and things to sort out, AMD make incredibly good graphics cards for their price, but at this resolution w/e you get will make no change.

If it were for 1440p the 390 would be miles better than the 970 due to more Vram.

Also that is just plain fanboism.

Wouldn't call it fanboism. I don't like nvidia as a company. I think it's bullshit how they pay devs in many cases to make games run like shit on AMD gpus, and the whole 3.5gb vram was pretty bs. Doesn't change the fact that their gpus are almost always better in comparison to what's available at the time of their release. Once nvidia releases their next batch of gpus it will most likely surpass AMD again.

You could put in a 970 if u want. Also just get something like a Z97 AsRock Pentium thing and a 4690K would also work.
