Girlfriend in ON, Canada for 2 months, need SIM advice

monster_mm

Hey,

Calling on my Canadian LTT friends for some advice.

My girlfriend is heading to Ontario to do an internship for 2 months so she will need a pre-paid sim to get her by.

She has an unlocked iPhone 4s. So LTE/4g is not necessary. She will tether her phone to her laptop though.

Her usage here in Australia is as follows:

Data:

3.5GB per month (would probably budget for slightly more while OS)

Text:

~400 / month (most of it goes through imessage/fb now though)

Calls:

Probably somewhere around 100 mins should be good for work purposes.

Budget:

Doesn't need to be the bottom dollar deal, as it's only over 2 months. Just something with the best overall value really.

She's not the most tech savy girl, as I'm the one who usually manages her data recharges etc here. She'd certainly appreciate something simple like going into a store and just paying the one monthly fee for the deal and not have to worry any more about it.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

And I'll be sure to tell her where the advice came from too [emoji3] as she's always stirring me up calling me a nerd while I'm sitting there watching the 'WLAN' show on Saturday mornings [emoji6]

Monster.

Koodo has the best reception and good prices. They have better reception than rogers. Im in Toronto

If shes staying in the city wind mobile is an option, they only have good service in the GTA and its HSPA+ not LTE

+1 for wind if staying in Toronto. The three main cell providers are bell, Rogers and telus. Most other providers use one of the big 3's cellular network. Koodo uses Rogers cell network, so I don't understand how they get better reception?

Data is the limiting factor here, as most data plans over 3gb are $$$

I would recommend pay as you go if you're only staying for two months.

Telus is the parent company of Koodo. Anywho, Koodo has good reviews from the limited amount of people who use it.
