Hello! Linus keeps saying in his videos to ask question to you guys because you're all awesome so I figured, why not? I have some questions in regards to a minor or possible major system upgrade I'm planning. My current build is as follows:

ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard

Intel Core i5 3570k (factory clocked and cooled)

16gb Corsair Vengeance Ram 1600 mhz

2x MSI GTX 660 ti in SLI

I game at a resolution of 1920x1200 with no plans to change my monitor in the foreseeable future. I don't have a set budget yet because I don't know the exact parts I'm going to buy. I know I'm definitely going to replace one of my GPU's when Nvidia Pascal is released (keeping the other for Physx). I also want to upgrade my PSU to a modular kit to help with cable management and power efficiency. Mine currently is only 80 plus and I'm debating whether I want to spend a little more on gold or just get a bronze certified PSU. Thinking about this upgrade has me wondering if my CPU will become a bottleneck or not. As my rig currently stands, I don't have bottlenecks that I've been able to detect. So preferably I'll just be upgrading my GPU's and PSU.

Currently my plan is to buy a Pascal GPU, most likely the 970 equivalent in price and a new PSU. If I do that do you guys think my CPU will work just fine or should I upgrade? Or would an overclock extend its life well into the future? I do plan on buying a good closed loop water cooler soonish. Most likely a Corsair Hydro Cooler series. Or maybe a Coolermaster 212 air cooler. I'm not sure yet. Also, which would spending a little extra to get a Gold certified PSU really be worth the extra money?

That's all I really have for now. I'm eager to hear back from you guys!

EDIT:

I apologize if my editing or topic structure is horrible . I haven't posted in an internet forum since around 2009. So I'm essentially pretty new to this.

A 3570k is barely any worse than a 4690k. Keep it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The 3570K is very capable for a few more years, and they OC like beasts.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D , Arctic Liquid Freezer  III , Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite , Corsair Vengeance 32GB , Gigabyte RTX 5070Ti ,  WD SN850 / MP44L

Corsair RM 850x, LIAN LI Lancool 207
