Upgrade or not?

Go to solution Solved by Lord_Karango17,

Not worth it for a 980, as it wont be a large jump at all, but it is more reasonable if you plan on moving to the 980 ti, as it is a significant jump.

really depends if your current cards isnt cutting it in the games/ res you play at, and if a 980ti would benefit.

I wonder every now and then about the same thing (selling the 780 ti and getting a 980ti), but considering the only game Ive been playing recently is was thunder, there would be very little point.

Honestly, don't go SLI in the future with the 780 ti, as there are much better options out there.

Personally, I think the 780 ti is good for now, but it is your opinion, I don't know if you care that much about maxing out every game.

Don't get a 980. The 780ti is pretty close to the 980, so there is no reason to upgrade. I would consider a 980ti, but IMO it still isn't worth it. I think you should wait for the next generation of cards before upgrading, unless you want to go SLI.

That's the problem, I can't make up my mind. I'm looking to play many upcoming games, like Fallout 4 and The Division. But the 780Ti will probably cut it though

Can you specify why I would not want to go SLI with 780Ti?

Since it dose not seem immediate then just wait for those games to come out, and if you see the 780ti isn't enough then upgrading then would be a bit cheaper.
