still waiting for windows 10............

I'm trying to revert to 7 after the install for 10 broke at 83% and left the drive priorites for my rig screwed up. It was looking for a BOOTMGR partition that didn't exist.

Will it be OK just to do a "fresh" install of Windows 10 over my 8.1 using my current 8.1 key. I got my key off of DreamSpark if that makes any difference. 

 

It should work, as long as the key is a valid activated windows key

Just to be clear. If you are forcing the update, and it was blacked because of driver support issue, expect issues with Windows 10, like many here encountered.

The "Get Windows 10" app, if you check it, will tell you if you are waiting for your wave to come in, or "Microsoft is working with partners..." message, basically saying that the drivers aren't ready.

Also, this forum has a nice section called "Operating System and Software". A great place to post Operating System questions.

Sorry for saying this note, but yesterday and today, I have been moving countless thread from here to Operating Systems forum section.
