So Guys.

My PC is here and setup. It's frickin fabulous. I'm playing GTA at 1080p on a 60hz monitor with max settings and the FPS rarely drops below 50fps if some advanced graphics are off. It does go over 60fps sometimes as I have v sync off but I know I can't see over 60fps on the monitor.

What I am wondering is should I keep v sync on?

Is it better to have the game stick at 60fps and drop sometimes rather than having it fluctuate between 50fps all the way to over 100fps sometimes?

Thanks.

if the stuttering bothers you, then reduce the settings and enable vsync.

if your fps goes below 60 fps with it on, the fps will get kicked down to 30 fps, so you want to make sure that the fps does not go below 60 fps when its on.

Try them both out. Depending on YOUR specific setup, v-sync may introduce more or less lag. Also up to you whether you notice it or not.

I prefer the look of v-sync, but in certain games, the lag is too much for me and have to disable it and deal with stuttering. Depends from game to game for me.

When in doubt, re-format.

Never happens with me... Weird. In no game.

These are the specs:

980 ti is very overkill for 1080p lol. I reccommend to save for a 1440p monitor, you will still get great 40-70 fps!

It gets me when people say this, how is it overkill for 1080p when it can barely keep witcher 3 above 60fps with hairworks on?

Not true at all, I've never understood why people say this happens.  I use V-sync on a lot of games, my FPS never drops to 30 if I can't hold 60.  I have seen every value of FPS between 30-60 with V-sync on

Hairworks is a privilege though, it's an add-on feature that is not part of the game.

Itr is part of the game though, it's a setting, just like the other settings in there.

There are other game though, non gamework games that still only run at maybe 70-80 on a 980 ti at 1080p
