Mixing Memory?

So I know you're not supposed to mix different sticks of RAM because they may not work together or just not work as well as dual or quad channel kits, but what if they are the same kind and model of RAM, just bought separately (2 dual channel kits)?

 

I want to upgrade to 16GB of Corsair Vengeance, but I wanted to get 2 red and 2 blue to go with my aesthetic. Would I have any trouble using these together?

Match voltage, speed, and timings.

As long as they have the same timings, speed, and cas latency you can any ram together with minimal (none) problems! Cheers!

Not just the same speed. It also has to be the same timings, voltage, and cas

If they're the same model of kit, just a different colour, than they should work flawlessly. 

Though as previously stated, you only need to match the speed, CAS and voltage.

Cool thanks guys. I thought so, but someone told me I should get a multi-channel set if I was upgrading. Good to know I can get whatever I like
