Hey Everyone,

Custom build, nothing too fancy. Concerned about my Mobo temps though.

Input is appreciated.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

That's a cheap 970 AMD mobo for you it's bad but normal for 970s because they're generally bad

Didn't realize the 970's run hot?

They do because of poor cooling on the motherboard most 970s aren't good quality except for a few like the 970A MSI SLI Krait and 970 MSI Gaming but other than that I wouldn't recommend buying cheap 970s I would get 990s as they have proper cooling especially since it's bad to run a 8 core AMD CPU on a 970

It was a free mobo for me at the time which is why I was okay with it. Might look into a 990 then

Just put another fan in the system aimed directly at the chipset heatsink, ziptied and pointed at the heatsink under the CPU, thats the chipset heatsink, thats whats getting hot.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

FX8350 powerhungry 8 core on a cheap Asrock 970 Extreme 3 with only 4+1 powerphase,

and not realy great quality analog vrm´s

Can lead into potential overheating issues.

And if the overheating continues, burning out of the VRM's. ;)

If you have your processor overclocked, I would back that down right away.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here
