Wife's cousin is starting college and needs a good laptop for up to 700 dollars. Details inside.

cab11150904

This laptop will be used for general computing.  So basically plenty of writing papers and research and probably videos and music.  Musts are an i7 and at ledast 8 gigs of RAM.  Not entertaining AMD systems at all.  1TB harddrive and if an SSD can be fit in the budget that'd be good too.  1080p screen.  Please don't try to convince me I don't need the specs I asked for.  That's what is wanted so if you have suggestions that fit those specs then throw them my way.  A cursory glance found this one and it seems pretty good but surely I didn't find something so ideal on the first page of my first search.

Laptops are a dangerous thing.

What's inside there is not an i7. It's a equivalent to a desktop i3. It's 2 cores, hyperthreaded.

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

You do know the differences between a i3, i5 and i7 are completely different when talking about mobile CPU's.

Yes.

then you will know that a mobile i3 and mobile i7 perform VERY similar, in fact a new 5th gen i3 will likely perform better than most last get mobile i7, dual core and 4 threads are found on both the i3,s and i7 in mobile

and for research, and writing papers you only need a intel core m

the ux305 will perform great for almost everything that she needs to do

What the FUCK are you talking about?

*points downward to signature* please educate yourself on mobile CPUs, because you're saying "mobile" and you're speaking about "ULV" chips alone. And no, a new i3 will not beat a previous i7, even in ULV, because i3 does not have boost.

Musts are an i7 and at ledast 8 gigs of RAM.

I hope you mean "ULV" chips, because you're not getting a quadcore mobile i7 for $700 in any machine worth its salt. And you'll be more than fine with an i5 if you're considering the ULV chips, as there's little difference between the i5 and i7 ULV chips.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
