Hey guys, i recently noticed my asus gtx 750 ti is getting really dusty everywhere, on the plastic, heatsink and the circuit and electrics. How can i clean all this dust of without breaking it and not with air in a can, i will order some soon but i'd prefer other options, thanks. Also should i do this when the pc is on or off? Because i don't like turning my pc off, thanks!

best way is to turn your pc off and take the card out so you can really get into every little spot where dust could have begun to settle.

air in a can is a good way to do this, tough you could also use an air compressor. just make sure to hold the fans when you're doing this, because making them spin too fast could damage them!

If it is out of the case just run water through it, but don't plug it back in for like a day or two until it dries itself off. Or, by holding the fan blades and taking a qtip or ton to it.

Jesus, how many gpu's have you gone through?

Just put your entire system in the shower, should clear the dust out, also, remeber to not power down the system while its in the shower :)

use a bike pump with a small nozzle

it will give you high pressure air just like a can would, but you need to pump it yourself

the PC doesnt need to turn off while you do this

No, don't do this. Ever.

Take the garden hose, open the side panel and blow water at it for 15 mins and make sure to stress test so that the fans run at maximum.

Will this also increase my fps by 1000?

Probably.

Jokes aside, do yourself a favor and turn the PC off, take out the GPU and clean it with compressed air. It's by far the safest way of doing it since you can damage the fan or the PCB if it's powered on and running ._.

Will do that, going to use a bike pump like someone else suggested, thanks!

Never thought of that, thanks bro!

You're welcome :)

I use the small nozzle for filling up sports balls/basket balls or whatever

but you can also attach one of the thin spray can tubes to the pump for a smaller air stream

yes you can wash the computer, it's not a troll. ask your physics teacher at school

just make sure you dry it out.

and hey, if you're not comfortable with doing it, that's fine you just got a ton of other suggestions

still the fastest and easiest would be to just blow it out yourself like a man:

Why? If you give it time to dry the thing will be fine.

Because there are materials that oxidize faster than water evaporates

That means that unless you can dry it in minutes, some components will have extremely reduced life span from water touching it for a few hours

Its a stupid idea really, you never clean electronic components with water
