It depends on what you're using to render. (What Video Editing Software.) If you're using Sony Vegas Pro, as long as you have a 200 series or older card from AMD, you can use OpenCL. As well as the 700 Series from NVIDIA. Vegas Pro, nor the Adobe Suite support OpenGL / CUDA for the 900 series from NVIDIA. It would be a safe bet to invest highly into a CPU, however.

I would focus more on the CPU.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

So this would bring up a question. Am I really better of with an Asus g751 at 2.5 ghz over a dell i7548-7858slv which says it has 4gb of memory in a graphics card and doesn't say what it is. The dell is like 300 cheaper with the open box
