How Can I Make This Cheaper?

Beeeyeee

Hey guys! i'm building a budget PC for my buddy. His budget is $500-$700 preferably on the lower end. and i'm charging an extra $50 to build it for him. So far this is what I have, but I dont really know what to cut down.

The only thing I could think of is bumping the graphics card down to a 750ti, but He would love the extra horse power. any suggestions will help, heres the PCPartPicker link. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rmccsY

Get windows from somewhere else (maybe /r/microsoftsoftwareswap)

and not for that price

Maybe drop the windows ?

Also a R9 270x/other would be better unless you really need the tiny power requirements

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Instead of making it cheaper, tell him to go with the slightly more expensive, at the benfit of getting the gaming rig he desires.

280X instead of 750Ti.... i just added a GPU better then the 960.

If he needs Wifi, buy a Asus AC56, i got that card, sure it costs 50 USD, but it is AMAZING. It never crashes or lags, even when im downloading while playing online games.

I added an SSD for your OS and important programs. I do think a 750ti is pretty good card, it was my first graphics card and I was able to play a lot of games at 1080p with a good framerate. I chose a better psu cause a 400w would just mean if you want any substantial upgrade you'd have to buy another. And like others said, buy the os from reddit or g2a, it's like $30 then

Thanks but he has no need for an SSD and he really wanted a good graphics card, he won't be upgrading really at all. but thank you:)

in that case drop the ssd and upgrade to a 970. I know some people recommend AMD gpus however games almost always run better on nvidia gpus, a lot of the times due to nvidias bully tactics of paying devs to make the games run like shit on amd.

if you're trying to keep it on the lower end of $500-700, you're already there at $550... If you want it lower than that, then your budget is really only $500.
