Hi, I am building my first PC and I am being unsure about it.

I have done alot of research on all the parts in the build, I just want a second opinion on the build.

Thanks.

Motherboard: MSI H97M-G43 H97 Chipset

Processor: I5-4690 (6M Cache, 3.5 GHz)

GPU: GIGABYTE NVidia GeForce GTX 960 G1 Gaming 2g

RAM: Kingston HyperX fury, 1600MHz ( 2 x 4gig)

PSU: Corsair CX600M

HHD: WD blue 1TB

Chasis: Coolermaster Force 500 (black)

Its perfect for my budget Which is 1000$

Where I live this build cost just over the budget.

Looks good finally a decent build.

You may want to get a gtx960 4gb if you can

If you can, change your RAM to a stick of 8GB rather than 4GB*2.

Nah on the 960 it is okay it can be usefull in some games. Yes Iknow the low bus and everything.

No it can't. How can it utilise the 4GB VRAM if it can barely process the cached textures at a playable framerate?

Just a heads up, I have the H87M version of that board and there is no fan voltage regulation. Meaning that it can only control case fans that are PWM. Else, they will run at 100%. Not sure if MSI fixed this on the H97M. The rest of your build looks great though.

Also, maybe try to squeeze out an extra 60$ for an entry-level SSD just to improve boot times :)

It's called a placeholder. Don't comment on my build, and justify your points.

That still is stupid. Giving good advice to people while you don't have your own stuff right.

The 4gb on the 960 is usefull you can see some improvement in fps in some titles, but for most people not that usefull in the difference in price.

Get a 4460. Difference is negligible. Also, get a CS PSU or a Seasonic one. CX are legendarily low quality and may cause issues as they oveheat rather easily.
Also, 960 is a flat out waste of money. Get a 380 or a 390/970. Even if you put 10k gigs of memory that doesn't change the fact that it can't use more than 2, it's core is simply not powerful enough.

A 4690K over a 4690 would be much better. Trust me, you have a top tier i5 and the extra money is worth it for the unlock.

With the current board, he may not be able to overclock. Generally only Z97's allow for overclocking.

Hey man, it sounds like you aren't in the US, but try putting in these things, or very similar to pcpartpicker. I tried to capitalize on performance by going for a cheaper i5 (Similar performance), and a tier higher gpu with a great case (I own it and really like it), and a solid power supply.

I'd recommend 2x4 sticks of RAM for the option of Dual channel? Also, Seasonic power supplies ^_^

Going with 4GB*2 reduces the ability to add more RAM in the future and the benefits of dual channel are not noticeable.

I beg to differ, I do notice a 20% speed increase. Not sure how you missed that.

You've quantified it? Or are you going with benchmarks?

More like did a bit of googling.

Dual channel give you anywhere from 10 to 20% performance increase. Now, that is usually a lot more noticeable with APUs and iGPUs but it's still a good thing for power users that like to have 20+ tabs in chrome or firefox

Exactly. According to the information you've provided, you didn't quantify it and you didn't notice a difference on your own.
