Steam Down?

Can someone please try to connect to Steam and let me know if you get connected. I accidentally closed Steam while downloading a game, and now it's telling me that the network may be down.

Well this sucks. I still have all the Tomb Raiders, Half-lifes, Civ. V, etc. To download from the Summer Sale. Guess I'll just wait till I get to college and have a hard connection...

Oh, so it is down? It's not just me? Strange that it was fine, until I accidentally closed it and wouldn't launch right after. Maybe I broke it! :p

Does anyone know why the servers are down? Maintenance? Servers hacked? Credit cards hacked? Hardware malfunction? I really hope valve doesn't pull a Sony with credit card stuff being hacked.  :wacko:

wel appereantly they asked me to login and i tried that and they said my account doesnt exist so i really want to know whats going on
