Hello guys i'm planning an awesome entertainment system for my room:

I already own a 5.1 home theater and well.... a room  :P

My budget being quite high (around 3300€ but i'm buying without taxes so around 4000€ TTC) for the whole setup I wanted to get great experience so I want a pc able to drive 5760x1080 and 4k

Explanation:

I want one part of the setup to be Three monitors in nvidia surround for driving simulation and open world/third person games with a 144hz monitor on it for FPS games the other part of the setup being a 4K for movies and some games (Fifa,NBA,WWE,Mortal kombat) and to watch tv.

All these would be driven by the same PC and that's why i need a monstrous pc.

Here's what it would look like: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/9Z7tqv4aV7o/maxresdefault.jpg

I have come up to this:

PC :http://www.ldlc.com/b-b351a95a7b57bda1.html

Displays :  http://www.ldlc.com/b-e052c4fe753878c3.html

Accessories :  http://www.ldlc.com/b-5f2f7273c8b90e49.html

Sorry for the site being in french but i'm ordering there.

What would you change and why? The color scheme is Red and Black (and silver)

The soundcard is for the Home theater and my headphones (Beats Studio V2 yeah i know.....)

The bluetooth adapter is for the DS4 (to us with the tv)

The wheel for simulation and the g13 for FPS

I choose a cheap keyboard because i'll never use it aside from normal use

Erard cliff for 144hz monitor

Cables for all the displays

I also have some questions:

Can all these displays be driven by that one pc?

Is 4K worth it? I'll be sitting at 3 meters from the TV

Is the overall thing good for the 3300€?

Now that i think about it it will be more of a man cave than a setup......

I've been trying to get a good setup since months but as my budget kept growing i decided to wait until now to order so i need quick help to order this week-end

Thanks for reading this long post ;)

Get the 295x2. It usually performs better than the titan x in gaming, even at 4k. Or get 2 8gb edtion 290x/390x which should give you the same price.

snip

Wow theres alot to go thru in detail. so im just gonna give some comments bout the pc.

The kraken x41 could be better paired with a 240mm corsair or cm. that 4790k will want good cooling. the x41 is great just not in this use case.

At the price of your PSU, you might be able to find a gold rating.

High clocked Memory wont give you any noticable fps increases nor does it help in daily use. Might spend it elsewhere. 1333 or 1600 is enough.

the S340 case comes with 2 white/black fans fron nzxt. so adding that red corsair will stick out massively :) so.. either you change all the fans to these or just use the white ones, as the AIO coolers do have ones that come with white fans.

As for the GPU if you plan to do video editing or animations stuff or photoediting, I would recommmend a 390CF or 295x2 (if you can find one for a good price),

if not doing any of these, the 980ti is a solid card.

the 390cf will have a larger frame buffer at 8gb vs 6gb. Which is both very nice for high rez gaming and productivity.

the 295x2 atleast in germany is just like a 290x cf on one card, for the poorer ppl.

just a note that the maximus board is meant for you to really push the cpu, if you are looking for just a high clocked stable cpu but not pushing the limits. you can go with something less , but either way this isnt really a bad choice at all.

I was told that single card is better than crossfire/sli that's why i choosed 980ti over 980 sli/390xSLI/295x2

Do you think the 295 don't have crossfire problems?

For the cpu cooler i don't understand you mean change the X41?

For the case fans what do you recommend?

The 295x2 is technicly 1 card. Just with 2 gpu's stuck inside it. And that's only with low end cards. 2 390x's in sli can easily compete ,and beat, with th titan x in gaming, not to mention the 980ti. Plus, the extra ram will be useful at 4k.

Some crappy games with early drivers may have stutters or what not but i havent met any in a while.

I meant that you swap the x41 for something like a h100i, or seidon 240m.

case fans. well. depends on your colour scheme.

So 390x cross or 295x2 or 980 sli?

if 390x xfire = 850€

295x2 = 730€

980 sli = 1000€

out of these. definitely the 390 cf. not 390x. not worth it.

390 cf already beats out the the 980ti by a little. and performs much better at higher resolution (triple monitors or 4k)

Eh yeah kinda. But should should probably drop the choice of 980's in sli. Their 4gb of ram(ram doesn't stack when you sli) probably won't be enough for 4k surrond gaming.

If 390 crossfire i'd prefer 970 sli i think so:

970 sli 775€

295x2 730€

390 Xfire 775€

390x Xfire 850€

390 is faster than 970, esp at higher resolutions.

its meant for high rez gaming, unlike the 970.

the 970 only has 3.5usable vram, even if you sli its still 3.5. thats barely enough for 4k. they also arent good at compute work if you need to do em.

i would really recommend the 390cf if you are looking for an all rounder that just so happens to be bit cheaper, bit faster as awell.

Unfortunatly, the one 390 would still perform 2 970's sli. Crossfiring and sli improvments are hard to explain. Usually the card with more ram wins.

Ok but is crossfire really good?

Because i also play old games (GTA 4, Assassin's creed....)

I try to play every game i did'nt play at the time so not only DX12 games.

I also emulate (PCSX2)

It's just amd's version of sli. So if you think sli is good, crossfire is better since they don't need to be the exact same kind of card.
