Unfortunatly, the one 390 would still perform 2 970's sli. Crossfiring and sli improvments are hard to explain. Usually the card with more ram wins.

ok so

Ok but is crossfire really good?

Because i also play old games (GTA 4, Assassin's creed....)

I try to play every game i did'nt play at the time so not only DX12 games.

I also emulate (PCSX2)

both sli and crossfire sucked. But they have come a long way.Plus Crossfire doesnt need a special bridge, its all done thru the pcie slot. This means better flexibility in the placement. further apart maybe? for better airflow.

old games will run on even a single 390 at really high frame rates >100 for sure. and most of them if they are not too old like

PCS2 used to bias towards nvidia, but that was becuase at that time nvidia had more brute force, but now AMD is the one with the brute force. I doubt that pscx2 supports multi gpu acceleration, but i can be wrong. So its hard so say, weaker but single card or stronger but might be only using one. hmm..

It's just amd's version of sli. So if you think sli is good, crossfire is better since they don't need to be the exact same kind of card.

I just saw many complaints about multi gpu so i was wondering

If a single card could have the same perf for around the price...

First one is 295x2

2nd is 390 cross

the issue with 295x2 is that , its older. doesnt perform as well as a 390cf, still is recognised as dual gpu, just not crossfire. so apps that dont support dual gpu like pcsx2 still wont use that extra core.

but the main issue is the the 4gb ram. its just 4.

temps are decent at 71c on load. same as the 980ti msi.

Ok so VRAM will be a problem?

I should then go 390?

Says it has 8gbs? Or I remeber hearing that since it was still techiqully crossfire, the amount of ram was actually 4. Is that the case? Cause if so, go 390.

As for vram guide. look here

http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/90/much-vram-need-1080p-1440p-4k-aa-enabled/index.html

this are current and older games. so just imagine next gen games.

The R9 295X2 is the same as using 2 R9 290Xs in CFX. They just have an internal CFX connection. The memory still acts the same, it is 8GB total but it is split between both GPUs and each GPU has 4GB to use so it is still as if you only have 4GB of total VRAM (even if a game says 8GB it is actually 4GB).

Ok i'll do research on that

But what do you think of the other things?

Peripherals and displays

im not so good at displays, dont remember the models, panels details bla bla. but i will look into it later if no expert comes up.

ill check out the preipherals later.

this is confusing :(  ^_^

ill make it simple.

want something more 4k or triple monitor setup friendly that can also dominate at video and photo editing?

get 390 CF.

Just want 1 card and are just looking to game and done mind the small stuff like 6gb limitation,

980ti.

ont read, just go on youtube. watch the gameplay urself.

check out 390x cf(more videos on this compared to 390) and the 980ti.

most of these people talking have no real experiance with new sli/cf cards.

multigpu use to suck, and one some horridble games (keep on diggin) they do, for both sli and crossfire.

but such games are now hard to find as drivers get better, the tech matures as ppl are using it more.

Why do you think reviews run multi gpu, because it works.

Then i think 980ti because NVIDIA and no multi-gpu concern

But is 6gb a problem?

for now its not a problem. i gave you the link to the vram usage test by tweaktown. i think you can imagine the future bit.

what moitor are you gonna get. 4k? 1440p?

The 980ti is fine, a solid choice, just not that the price they are asking there, so expensive. and i thought germany was expensive.

If it was me i would go with 390cf, just becuase it faster in gaming, and its better at other task like rendering, video converting, cad modelling, ect2.

but if you are really worried, not that you have a reason to, but if you still are. then just get the 980ti. just try not to use too much antialiasing in 4k. certain games like battlefield 4 uses 7gb of vram already. God knows bout the upcoming games.

570x1080 and 4k (also 1080p but that's no concern)

As for accesories,

i do not recommend the use of a powerline Lan (the tplink wall lan) as they are not that reliable, depends on the wiring in your house alot, and if there are interferences and such.
But if a lan cable really is impossible then its ok. (sometimes dual band wifi is better, but depends)

the noctua h1 isnt as good as the cheaper arctic mx2 or mx4. so might want to get that instead.
