so I'm just wondering what is Corsair link and is it worth having.

Depends. Great for troubleshooting and a great software for noobs who don't have a ton of equipment to test their's but for most it's not useful.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

The temperature and fan control seemed like something the Mobo could do

It does read temps but the PSU (Corsair RMi) is high enough quality that ambient temps shouldn't be of concern to you. The fan control is something the PSU does on it's own already so yeah...
