I dunno why people keep bashing the Mac Pros. 12 core Xeon and two FirePros, all for less than the retail cost of one of the FirePros alone is pretty good value.

But I guess it has an Apple logo so according to the 12 year olds here, it must be automatically bad.

Exactly. But it does look like a trash can. I'm not bashing the components, just the design.

HOW DOES ONE MOVE THIS TO OFF TOPIC, THEN????!!!

You would probably have to contact the mods to move it, I don't really know their stance but they might consider it as spam, dunno not trying to be a dick but just stating what could happen.

Well hopefully they recognize that I want to move this to Off Topic and not mark me against spam.

It's an interesting design. If it can truly keep such an impressive amount of hardware cool in such a form factor I think that is noteworthy. Of course I have no knowledge whatsoever about how effective the design is in that respect.

Ehh, they could have made less in the shape of a trash can.

It's just a cylinder.

Well they could have made a base stand or something that doesn't make it look like a desktop trash can. Just saying. We actually do have some at work, they are pretty powerful.

Okay come on how is the cylindrical design of the Mac Pro such a bad thing? There could be worse. Much worse.

@asim1999 To be fair Apple hasn't updated it since like 2013.

Uh the Mac Pro has dual W9000s. AMD literally have the W9100 above that and that's it.

Dual D700s

They're only branded that when they're in Mac Pros. The retail version is called W9000

I probably shouldn't be surprised that you haven't done the most rudimentary research into the thing you're bashing because HURR APPEL. Still... tech forum and all that.

Dual D700s

The D700 and W9000 are the exact same, down to number of stream processors and bus width and VRAM. Only difference is that the D700s are custom factor for the Mac Pro chassis and Apple got one hilarious discount for using them.

There are many legitimate reasons to hate Apple and give them grief, but the Mac Pro isn't one of them.
