How do y'all think a system with the specs below would perform?

-Intel i5-3450

-12gb Generic DDR3

-GTX 970

-1tb WD Caviar Blue

I have the opportunity to get a system with these specs (minus the graphics card, i would have to buy that) for the low price of free.

How do you think this system would perform in games like GTA 5, and Far Cry 4?

Thanks!

You know that guy that games on a MacBook? I'm that guy.

Quite good, ive got same thing but 4690k (about 20% better CPU?) and im getting over 60FPS in GTAV with nearly ultra settings (adjusted grass and shadows).

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

pretty good, 60 FPS in most games on ultra, GTA you'll be hovering around 50-60 FPS maxed out 1080p

Way over 60FPS

(1920 * 1080) - (1680 * 1050) =
309600

1920 * 1080 =
2073600

309600/2073600 = 14,9% less pixels. So expect 15% performance increase.

Over 60fps that's for sure, I'd say go for the GPU atm and buy a new monitor as soon as you have the money for it.

I'd replace the generic PSU. I'd probably run the system for a bit without any upgrades and when i get the money upgrade to an EVGA power supply and a GTX 970, hopefully second-hand.
