My Setup wont run CS:GO but it should easily be able to

However i cant get it to keep a steady 150-200FPS on any map.

 

I have disabled cool n quiet in BIOS

I have RadeonPro with max prerendered frames set to 0

 

I run CSGO, Steam, skype, and occasionally chrome/itunes in the background

 

I need this to hit 144 fps at all times or my monitor isnt wasnt worth buying :\

That board really can't handle an FX8320 properly, so it may be underclocking it. Whats your CPU/GPU usage and the cpu clock speed? Also what CPU cooler are you using?

CS:GO is pretty cpu intensive and you have a shitty one, although it still should hit at least 144fps.

And is that WD Green your primary drive? WD Greens aren't meant to be primary drives at all.

maybe you should have gone with intel cpu?? I don't know what to blame it on honestly. The build looks solid, but maybe you shouldn't run to many things in the background if you want more fps

The FX series is a bottlenecking hazard for any rig, but the 8320 should be able to push up to 160 at least... 

Pull up MSI Afterburner and CPUid and run them while you're playing. Then send in the data here.

Im using the standard one, i didnt think an aftermarket one was necessary. GPU clocks

The moment you run the game at unlocked framerates the cpu usage will increase enormously.

If getting an intel cpu would fix most of these problems, not bottleneck and run cooler would it be viable to get a new one? this is also a 2 year old cpu while this r9 is just over a year old.

MY usage results:

 

Empty Server

 

CPU Cores 1-8: all at between 40-75% load

GPU:  40-50% load at 70 degrees (celsius)

Ram: 11527 avg usage

FPS: 200-260 

This is basically best care scenario except that my computer is running the server

Yeah, you'd be better off going full Intel. 

Your 290 gets really bottlenecked by that cpu.

That's because the Phenom II is better than the FX for gaming.

That's because the Phenom II is better than the FX for gaming.

get an i5/i7 and enjoy getting 300 fps with 4x msaa and everything on max. My build is similar but with intel.

 

With 8x msaa and all maxed out i get ~190-250 fps with a 1080p monitor and stock 290 clocks

he is better off getting a 990FX motherboard that can actually remotely handle the power delivery of that CPU.

Swapping full intel is a way more expensive solution when a 990FX + 8320 can easily be overclocked to increase performance. You are basically suggesting a 150-250 USD "operation", contrary to a single 110 USD board

either way. Getting rid of the FX is a bad move unless you plan to properly upgrade your rig. Getting a better mobo should be first priority.

Swapping full intel is a way more expensive solution when a 990FX + 8320 can easily be overclocked to increase performance. You are basically suggesting a 150-250 USD "operation", contrary to a single 110 USD board
