Screw is stuck?

I want to clean my mouse, so I want to open it. But I can't seem to unscrew the bottom 2 screws. The mouse is quite old, so they are probably stuck..

Any suggestion on how to do it?

Tried applying more pressure, but that would end up either breaking the screw or screwdriver.

Longer usually makes the screwdrivers do most of the work for me

Tried it, didn't work as well (screw doesn't move)

I don't have either of those in house, what kind of method do you recommend with applying WD40?

if the screw has a deeper, ahem... hole, just gently spray wd40 into it till it's like 2-3 mm full and leave it to soak in a bit. In theory there should be some room for the WD40 to lube up the screw, making it easier to remove it.

I can't really see under the screw, so not sure if spraying WD40 into it would touch the internals

You don't really need to spray under it. just over it enough that there's WD40 that can then make its way through to the screw channel.

afaik people use WD40 as a contact cleaner, so it most likely won't damage the internals. Just wipe it off with a tissue and let it evaporate if you have any doubts

Yeah, just gently spray some wd40 in the screw channel, let it do its magic for 10-15 min and try to unscrew it.

 

If that's the mouse I think it is, it doesn't really have any way of getting onto the board inside

Well I tried what you suggested with the WD40, but the screws are still stuck

But nevermind, not worth it that to me.. The only thing I wanted to do is kinda clean the top half and clean the mousewheel (because it sometimes get stuck). Watched a tutorial on it on YouTube and didn't seem too hard.. Seemed like I could get to the PCB pretty easily.
