Heyo!

I bought a CoolerMaster Elite 550 v2 PSU yesterday, replaced my old one.

Turned on thr PC and bam, when I played CS:GO my framerate droppes a lot.

I used to cap it to 128fps and it would be stable 128fps most of the time.

Now it dropped to around 100fps which is horrible for me as a 128tick player.

I also started to get graphical stutters on regular PC usage, also would like to note I'd get stable 1000fps in osu!, now I don't reach that 1000fps and stay around 900-950fps.

Please don't comment with "u cant see more than 60 anyways!!!" < this is still an issue that suddenly shown up and needs to be resolved.

Could anyone please help me? Thanks.

Windows 8.1 64bit, fresh install (also had the same issue with W7, but switched to W8.1 yesterday and I get tgis issue with both OSes)

i7 3770 @3.4GHz

16GB RAM DDR3 G.Skill

GIGABYTE GTX 650 1GB

I'm sure mostly everyone on this forum is educated and knows the difference between 60 FPS, 120 FPS and 144 FPS like how they know the difference between 720p, 1080p and 1440p.

So, the only change before and after was the power supply? Same system settings and everything? It's possible that the power supply is faulty but it's still a little weird. You might want to run a few tests to make sure everything is ok. Play a few different games to see if the problem persists.

Also: everyone knows you can't see above 24 fps

Is there any kind of a test except of playong other games? I'm on a fresh install and don't own too many games on Steam.

Nothing is running.

As I said, I had the same issue just after switching PSUs, and it also happened after a fresh install of 8.1.

Well I would suggest checking your other components. For instance checking your CPU temps by getting CPUID HWMonitor. Checking GPU temps by getting MSI Afterburner and just checking to see if it's not your networking by watching your network usage on task manager. It could be something as simple as your ping fluctuating or the game server your connected to not working correctly.

Will do so, time to plug the PSU back!
