It would be sad to see them not do this after 10K people (more if you count the turnip votes) wanting them to, I mean how hard can it really be.

You have to think about it. It takes money to install a firepole. Plus inspections. Inspectors might wonder why the hell is there a bloody firepole in the building.

It's not the price of the fire pole itself that is the problem.
