Maybe, although the OS mostly determines how close you can get: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6Fb823

I believe that they could get an OEM licence for $50, and this shows you can get CLOSE on your own, and it has no SSD, probably the most basic motherboard, PSU, etc... I would be much more comfortable with a custom machine, and you can actually transfer your windows licence when you get a new processor/motherboard. Although the case actually doesn't look too bad.

CPU:  Intel i7-4790K      Cooler:  Noctua NH-D14     GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1070 TI MINI     Motherboard:  ASUS Z97 Gryphon     RAM:  32GB G Skill Trident X

Storage: 2x 512GB Samsung 850 EVO (RAID 0) / 2TB Seagate Barracuda     PSU: 850W EVGA SuperNova G2     Case: Fractal Design Node 804

Multiple bad experiences with HP.

The way I see it... they design cases and motherboards. How hard can it be? But yeah it's apparently impossible.

Wow. First HP desktop I would actually say deserves the title of "gaming". (Referring to the 750xt)

Didn't HP have the slogan "Invent"? And they would like show these random shapes on the screen and pastel colors with people smiling because their printers work.

They are still doing it today. Inventing. Except in reality it's called making shit up.
