New Gaming PC build...help!

Hi everyone, I'm about to buy a new gaming PC...my budget is around 2000$ US. I'm planning on playing on a single 25" 60hz 1440p IPS monitor. I am buying the monitor so it does factor into my budget! I will be over clocking at some point. My biggest question is 970 vs 980 vs 980ti for current 1440p gaming and somewhat future proof also. I thought maybe it would be best to get a 980 and simply add a second one down the line.

I personally don't like the case, but it was in your original choice, so I left it.

 

I just doesn't seem to match anything you had going on before, or what I changed.

It seems like I'm getting a lot of feedback that the VII Hero isn't really worth the premium. What are your specific thoughts about that? I think I will replace the motherboard, I just want to understand why so I know for the future.

That is even better but Fury X is cheaper but I would wait for a less noisy model if you wanna go for super high end GPUs!

Yes, the aesthetic doesn't match. Just my opinion, you might think it does, and the consumers opinion is the one that matters.

The point of a higher end board is to get extra features, but if you can get a cheaper board with the features you need, then there is no reason to buy the more expensive board with features you are not even going to use... usually fancy words that dont matter to make people buy them, but some actually having uses.

Did you even watch the video? Both boards are overclockable, they both overclocked to 4.7ghz.

 

And the ability to overclock is "A feature" you look for.

I'm not sure his case will fit a H100 water cooler. The top fan mount is 200mm and the only other dual fan mount is on the front. The H80i GT would fit on the rear fan mount, though.

I was planning on sticking with the Corsair H50 anyway - it will be adequate for my needs!

Honestly, you can buy a cheaper Motherboard, like $20 cheaper that will still work, or you can get one close to the same price as the EVGA board that you think looks more aesthetically pleasing.

 

here is the absolute cheapest I would go, it can still SLI, Overclock the K CPUs, has heatspreaders in the right areas, has the right LAN speeds, and looks ok, but it might be lacking some features, not sure what exactly, I just know it has the base of what I would look for.

What color Scheme would you like is the main question. So, what would it be?

I'll do some final research and comparison shopping between those but I'm leaning towards the EVGA right now. Thank you so much though this is really awesome. I'll come back and post the final build when all is said and done, and then you can see whether the aesthetic is to your liking or not
