Considering an Upgrade

Hi! I'm in the process of planning an upgrade to my setup. Check my profile for current pc specs.

follow thine thread!

 

i looked at your profile and thought "you don't really need an upgrade, except maybe that RAM"

then i checked the parts list and was like "right 'O, chap, spot on!"

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I don't know if you have a stock cooler, but since you didnt mention one, I suggest to get a cooler at the same time. Unlocks the OC potential in the 4690k.

Seems like a good upgrade to me. But have you thought of upgrading the CPU cooler at the same time? Incase you feel like overclocking the CPU

Seems like a good upgrade to me. But have you thought of upgrading the CPU cooler at the same time? Incase you feel like overclocking the CPU

Thought about that, but currently I won't really get any tangible benefit from an oc'd CPU. I don't do too much that's overly CPU intensive.

Looks alright, although I think that monitor is too expensive for a montior to be honest, although it is quite nice.

 

I'm someone who'd rather have a 2560x1440 IPS monitor over 4K TN.
