Should I get Windows 7, 8 or 10?

7 for now. next month upgrade to 10. it looks promising

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

whichever is cheaper (7 or 8) and wait 'till Win 10 pops up, leaving a couple of days (up to a week or so) to read reviews so you don't get horribly screwed over after upgrading

It doesn't matter what you get. If u get 7, you can upgrade to 10 for free. If you get 8, you can upgrade to 10 for free. If you get 10.... well you get 10 :P .

 

Now why Windows 10? Because DX12. That's it.

win7 is trusted, tried, and proved.

win8 is shit IMO. and metro is thrash.

win10 look like it's going to be good. go watch videos.

use clone zilla, copy old OS onto new HDD with no loss.

win7 users will download a program that upgrades win7 to win10 for free. it's going to be available come july29th

Unplug hard drive from old computer, plug in hard dive to new computer.

he's buying a new HDD. so he needs to use clonezilla. he can't just move the HDD

I think you should get Windows 8 for now, and then upgrade to 10 for free once it comes out.

if it's a laptop it should come with an OS.

Be doesn't have to buy a new HDD, I have been using the same one for 5 years.

Get Windows 8.1 Pro on G2A.com for €28 and upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free when it releases on july 29th I think

 

Reddit Microsoft Software Swap is cheaper and imo safer.

i have a 1 tb one and getting a WD black 1tb, i dont know if its worth it

If it was a built system (like a dell or similar) then you'll need a new license but if you bought a copy of windows 7 then it's transferable.

 

7 or 8 for now.. 8 is slightly better at resource management (particularly memory) but I'd wait till 6 months after launch for 10.. Give them time to work out the major bugs and for drivers to be more widely available.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P
