Hello,

I am planning on a upgrade soon. I am either going to get a Fury X or a 980ti and then in a few months I'll crossfire/sli another one.

The only difference between 5820k and 5930k seems to be the PCIE lanes. Will having a 5820k bottleneck me in a crossfire/sli set up of the above cards?

For two cards you don't need 40 pcie lanes. 16 from consumer platform is enough.

Why exactly do you need 5820k, if you play games i7 4790k is just as good.

Never buy the 5930K. If you are going to SLI 4 Way (Which is just stupid in its own way) You need as many lanes as possible but below 3 way it works fine.

Also on any K series CPU ignore the clock difference. you can always overclock the 5820K to the 5930K and basically get the same temps on the 5820K as the 5930K
