what cpu to get

Go to solution Solved by skullbringer,

Intel Xeon E3-12xx  v2/3. Non oc, hyperthreading and i5 price!!!

i want to buy a new cpu but i dont have a lot to spend it must be an intel becus i have an wb for it but it doesnt need to be a "k" cpu and i dont think i will be able to spend more that 150-170 euro and it must be bf4 proof

my current specs:

i3 550 wc and ocd to 3.6ghz

asus gtx 560ti direct cu1

intel dh55tc

60gb corsair force3 and a wd 1tb blue

ocz fatal1ty 550w

intel xeon e3-1230v2, if you can afford one. Basically all i7 specs, but only i5 price, and no oc chipset needed.

Otherwise get some locked down i5, ivy or haswell doesnt really matter.

for a compromise, if you d like the hyperthreading of the xeon, but dont want to pay 200 bucks, get a slightly lower clocked xeon

1230v2 is a bit over speced for bf4 dont you think..? it'll be fine though. Wont have to upgrade that for quite a while if the most OP does is battlefield.

Look into upgrading the vid card, that'll help more than a new cpu. especially if you play at 1920x1080 or higher.

Try overclocking your i3 a little more and get your self another 560ti and sli them. Then get this psu http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cmpsu750txv2

This will give you a power supply to go in future builds and two oc 560tis will kick ass in battlefield 4.

I've never understood why people don't take advantage of the cheap xeons.

Marketing. Same reason why people get expensive ram.
