7970 + 280x vs 970

Babyballable

Hello guys.

It's upgrade time! I currently own an HD 7970 and I wonder if I should pair it with a brand new 280x in crossfire or sell it and get an 970.

I am leaning toward getting a more modern gpu.

If I sell my 7970 for the price its currently going for here in Poland and buy the GTX, I'll spend less cash than buying an additional 280x

What do you think?

970 is better.

What resolution ?

I would go for a single GPU, R9 390 / 290x etc

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Right now: one 1080p for gaming and an 1024p peripheral.

Thanks for the replies!

7970 is a great card for 1080p. What do you expect from a new GPU or crossfire?
