One of my guitar strings broke (I haven't changed them since I bought it, so I think they are around 8 years old), so can you suggest me a decent brand, but not too expensive.

Sure, there's probably a few builders and tradesmen on the forum, but the questions are unrelated to what the forum is for, and will generally get better, more informed answers if asked in a place dedicated to that subject.

Do you understand what this sub-forum is for? And just the sheer number of people that play guitar?

I understand your point, but note the subforum this is in :P

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

I'm not saying he can't post it, just that other places would be a better option, as it's dedicated to it. Much like asking a question about a graphics card on a guitar forum. You can do it, sure, but posting it here would be better.

Also, even in off-topic, it's still primarily a tech forum

At all times though, this is a tech centered and focused forum.

It's electric, it uses tech! Plus, who bothers signing up for other things? I mean.. that's work.

Ah, work, the fear of most PC enthusiasts xD

Anyway, @OP if the guitar is 8 years old, even the cheapest strings will be better than the current ones. I'd personally go for the next to cheapest, or lower-mid priced ones, it's normally your best bet in terms of value.

8 year old strings?? My goodness... I'm surprised they didn't corrode away! In all seriousness, I always use Ernie Ball 11's when I gig and record. They're $6ish a pack and last a good while without corroding or getting all slimey.
