So I just finished installing windows on my build.

Can someone make me a list of what I have to do (in terms of updates and drivers) and some useful software I should download

Get your new drivers

Go to this site and choose everything you need. http://ninite.com/

Get libre office (basically a free microsoft office, better than open office imo)

Run Ninite to get all the programs you want to get, and while you do that get all your drivers for your MOBO, CPU, GPU, and any other cards you have.

You might need the driver disk that came with your MOBO for the network drivers to get online to download all your other drivers.

Besides most of windows updates and all of your part's drivers, Msi afterburner, Teracopy, winrar, CCCP, foobar2000, gyazo, and VLC.

A few others I use are teamviewer, skype, sandboxie, 7zip, utorrent, win7bootupdater (for custom boot animation), daemon tools lite, cpu-z, and Windows7logonbackgroundchanger.

Meh. My friends and contacts use Skype. I don't use it for gaming anyway other than silly League games with some friends. It was less a recommendation but more of a few extra things I tend to install for any new systems or reinstalls.

Motherboard, graphics, and device drivers are first priority.

Then a real web browser.  Chrome, FireFox, whatever.

After that, go nuts.

Intel Core i7-7700K | EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW | ASUS ROG Strix Z270G Gaming | 32GB G-Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-3200 | Corsair AX860i

Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 3 Samsung 950 Pro 256GB | Samsung 850 Evo 1TB | EKWB Custom Loop | Noctua NF-F12(x4)/NF-A14 LTT Special Edition

Dell S2716DGR | Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (Cherry MX Brown) | Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum | FiiO E17 DAC/Amp | Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro

good point it does need a system restart to fully install.

No problem with that. It takes about 10 seconds to restart.

You need to make sure your hardware is compatible with the Mac os, it only likes certain things, so not all boards, gpu's and other stuff work.

By far one of the most useful pieces of software ever written, yet next to no one knows about it. :(
