First build for gaming. Suggestions and feedback is appreciated.

ivans100

I want a build that will run games smoothly at medium-high settings at 1080p. I mostly play CS:GO and GTA5, but i play other games such as Skyrim, Max Payne, and Payday 2 occasionaly. I'm looking forward to running these games at more than 60fps, so can you guys point out any bottlenecks or flaws in my build? Thanks!

Obligatory "get a 280 instead" post.

Also that PSU is way overkill. you'll need a 550W tops for what you're doing.

i wanted the 980ti at first but decided to go with the 960 because it costs a lot less and can still offer great performance

as for the monitor, 27" is a little too big for me and i'd rather have a higher refresh rate

Also is a CPU cooler necessary or can i just use the stock cooler? I've heard intel cpu's don't heat up as much as others.

The 960 won't be able to push 144 fps. Get at least a 970 if you are gaming on 1080p, the 290x and the 390x are also viable options.

What do you guys think?

Is it ready to be built?

I would add a CPU cooler, the stock one should be fine for normal usage, but if it's for gaming then get an aftermarket a Cooler Master hyper EVO 412s should do. or a be quiet cooler, they look amazing
