so my mums friend said her computer was slow and she wanted me to take a look at it and yeah it was fairly slow and windows was clean of any viruses just all the crap asus puts on it but then i noticed and think what is causing it to be slow it has a AMD E-450 APU e.g. a dual core 1.65GHz cpu... i looked at the task manager and it was 100% most of the time even just trying to open chrome but when you leave the computer alone for a while the CPU usage go's to 1-4% usage.

so is the issue the CPU being 1.65GHz or the mechanical harddrive.

should i still reinstall windows even though it is fairly clean just asus things

Came out in 2011

Its a slow CPU, mixed with a slow HDD and it probably needs a good ol Windows reinstall and clean up

It came out in 2011 as a low power cpu that was underperforming even in 2011

run CCleaner and it will probably speed up the computer some, then the CPU

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

A re-install to get rid of the bloat will help but the CPU and the HDD will of course impact performance.. I'm guessing it has 2GB ram also.
