So, I've got a chance to buy a 2 yrs old GTX 690 for 200€, or a reference Palit GTX 970, which still has a warranty, so, which one will be better for gaming, considering DX12?

The 970, Lower TDP and it will also be more reliable since it is not nearly as old.

It will perform much better than a 970 so if you get a great offer on it then go for it, otherwise 970.

970 over that....  but save up for the 980 Ti if possible. Best longevity in gaming at the moment.

Wait and see how much they are going to charge for the Fury as well. I don't have big hopes for it....but they are going live with it in 2.5 hours.

Get the 970, no question.  You're going to get plenty of performance out of both cards, especially if you run at only 1080p.  But the 970 is quieter, cooler, has more memory, and circumvents all of the problems with SLI that you'll find with the GTX 690.

In addition, going with a single GTX 970 gives you an upgrade path.  If you need more GPU horsepower a few years down the road, you can easily buy another used GTX 970 and run both cards in SLI.

I'll go with the 970 if I can! Thanks, but if I can't, is the 690 a good option for 50€ more than a single 680?

It's a decent card, but personally I'd take almost enything over a dual GPU card like the 690, since you need a tornado to cool it and all the usual SLI problems are present as well.

IF I'm not going to be able to buy a 970, I can either get the 680 or the 690, so the choice is obvious in this case.
