Please do not use the following arguments:

- Windows has more games. I agree windows is the winning operating system for gamers but please do not use this as an argument.

- The hardware is cheaper, this is very true but i'm asking about the OS and not the hardware.

EDIT: Hate is a strong word. Why do you prefer Windows over OS X?

I am not a fan of the apple/mac platform but I do not automatically hate dislike it either. Apple/Mac just doesn't have a place in anything I do. I don't video edit or conduct musical litanies even though the same can be done on widows with some extra effort. I don't want to own anything apple branded because of the limitations the hardware has e.g. non-up-gradable parts. If I became inclined to use the OSX I am not inclined to attempt to go thru the extremely long and arduous process of installing it on a pc system.

I prefer the ease of use and low learning curve Windows has over Mac OS's (tho the same could be reversed if said about the old Mac system I used back in JR High when both was similar in style) The biggest reason I don't prefer Mac OS over Windows is because of the proprietary limitations Apple placed on Mac anything for the longest time, I had wished way back in the day to get one of those awesome Macintosh classics but it sucked because there was no support for anything but mac only programs that came from..oh...apple. Now of course that has changed now but I am so used to using Windows I have no real reason to go Mac as I don't want to take the time to relearn a whole new OS. And other reason others have posted before me. (just so I am not repeating said things).

Just as a point of reference, Windows changed its base Kernel back with Win7 & 8 (after the failed attempt with WinME. It still has some if the inherent flaws but is much much more stable.*edit* The Kernel code is again being more stabilized with v10 by the way.

**Edit**

Mac OSX = Limited (Some Gaming)/Specific End User Experience

Windows 95 thru 10 = General Public (and Gaming) End User Experience

Linux/Unix = Specific End User Experience i.e. programmers and others like users.

Android/Google = Internet Surfing

There are literally only two reasons I use Windows instead of either Mac or Linux:

1. Gaming.

2. Because it's what I have experience with.

I think Linus hit the nail in the head in his review of Mac.. It's a fine OS, just like Windows is a fine OS. There's not much reason to switch if you're already comfortable with the one that you're using right now.

If you're doing some advanced task that specifically requires one or the other, that's great. Good for you. Use the one you need and be happy.

Otherwise, it doesn't freakin' matter.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

I don't use or have OS X so I can't say much. I do wish I had it to mess around in. I have used it occasionally though before. From my experience and in my opinion I think that: The 3 window control buttons in the corner are too small and easy to miss, Safari is actually pretty fast and nice, file explorer (or whatever it's called) is confusing and looks like crap, it has no windows snapping (I think?) which is a must for me, and lastly it seems if you want to change or add something else it would probably require a program that costs money.

sorry, but creating a topic with narrowed scope of reasons to debate it, surely

will insight end-fighting, troll commenting and basic loss of topic discussion.

as like all others before, they all end badly.
