after a lot of math i'm ending up at 27 inches, did i do a wrong?

Nope, you're correct. The exact size would be around 27.7".

@GeneralBear one thing you should remember is that if non of the monitors have height adjust, then they may still be uneven.

You need a 23" 16:9 monitor to match a standard 29" ultrawide.

Enter the diagonal measurement of the MAIN display: 29
Enter the resolution: 2560x1080

To match a 29.000" (73.660cm) 2560x1080 display side-by-side, you require a:
15.941" 1:1 (1080x1080) display
18.044" 5:4 (1350x1080) display
14.435" 5:4 (1080x864) display (in portrait orientation)
18.787" 4:3 (1440x1080) display
14.090" 4:3 (1080x810) display (in portrait orientation)
21.268" 16:10 (1728x1080) display
13.292" 16:10 (1080x675) display (in portrait orientation)
22.992" 16:9 (1920x1080) display
12.933" 16:9 (1080x607) display (in portrait orientation)

If you wanted to match your current 22" monitor, you would need a 27.1" 21:9 display, but such a monitor doesn't exist.

Keep in mind here that almost all 22" 16:9 monitors are actually 21.5" with rounding. And also "21:9" monitors aren't an exact 21:9 ratio. 2560x1080 is 64:27 and 3440x1440 is 43:18.

Custom aspect ratio 64:27 added.
Enter the diagonal measurement of the MAIN display: 21.5
Enter the resolution: 1920x1080

To match a 21.500" (54.610cm) 1920x1080 display side-by-side, you require a:
14.906" 1:1 (1080x1080) display
16.873" 5:4 (1350x1080) display
13.498" 5:4 (1080x864) display (in portrait orientation)
17.567" 4:3 (1440x1080) display
13.175" 4:3 (1080x810) display (in portrait orientation)
19.887" 16:10 (1728x1080) display
12.429" 16:10 (1080x675) display (in portrait orientation)
21.500" 16:9 (1920x1080) display
12.093" 16:9 (1080x607) display (in portrait orientation)
27.117" 64:27 (2560x1080) display
