So lately I read a lot about computer Hardware on the internet , and as I plan on buying a new gaming PC , I am looking for the best components to last me a long time . And a lot of people stated that with the DX 12 the R9 290X will preform a lot better than the GTX 970 . So is it true , or just rumors ? As I plan on getting the GTX 970 , and I really want to know which one of those 2 would be more '' future proff '' (I plan on playing games at 1080p)

I'm sorry, I RMA'd my crystal ball, so can't look in the future right now :(

 

We don't know right now which will be more future proof.

Who stated that 290X will performe better?
They should get the same boost.

I'm happy with my 970, I'd get a 290X if I didn't care about the nvidia shield. I also like the newer architecture and the lower power draw, of the 970.

However the 290X doesn't have the 3.5GB fast + 0.5GB slow memory problem.

Also with the new AMD line up coming out so soon, I'd wait for that if I were you.

Will there be rebranded cards just like the 200 series ?
