AMD CPU's just lack the great single core performance many Intel CPU's do have. Thus those CPU's will bottleneck a GTX 970.

The 8350 doesn't have much of per core performance (what causes the bottlenecking) improvement over the fx 6300, so it will till cause bottlenecking. Get a i5 4460 if you can.

A lot of times yes. In some games no. I have a fx-6300 and GTX 970. An i3-4150 will also bottleneck a 970, but plays poorly optimized games better

the Intel CPUs at the price point of the FX-6300 also bottleneck a GTX 970. Its not a matter of brand it's a matter of CPU budget

Maybe, however you can get a much cheaper motherboard if you go Intel.

It depends on the price of the motherboards, because you have some decent cheap LGA 1150 motherboards. the FX 6300, you want to OC that probably and many AM3+ motherboards (that are good for overclocking) seem to be more expensive.

 

I am not stupid, I know a Pentium or even an i3 4160 will bottleneck it a bit, but the i3 wont bottleneck it as much still.

And the i5 4440 wont bottlneck it in most, if not all, games.
