MSI GTX 960 4GB vs MSI GTX 970

So I am almost finished with my new gaming rig:

-Intel Core i5 4690k Devils Canyon

-ASRock M8 Z87 motherboard

-Crucial 250GB SSD

-Toshibe (woofe) 2TB HDD

-6GB SODIMM DDR3 (borrowing from my laptop, will be upgrading to 16GB Hyper X Fury soon)

-LG Ultrawide 29 in 2560 x 1080 monitor

-ASRock M8 case

I have narrowed down my choices of graphics card to:

1) MSI GTX 960 4GB

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127860

+Cheap ($240)

+4GB VRAM

-Much less powerful (wont be able to run my ultrawide monitor at 60 fps on ultra settings)

+Backplate

+I like the I/O better than the 970s

2) MSI GTX 970

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&cm_re=msi_gtx_970-_-14-127-832-_-Product

+$340 cheapest of the 970s

+future ready

+worth more if I decide to sell later on (transfering colleges and will be living in dorm, might need extra cash in future)

3) MSI GTX 970 LE

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127841&cm_re=msi_gtx_970-_-14-127-832-_-Product

-(what's the difference between this and #2)

-$350

4) MSI GTX 970 100ME

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127850&cm_re=msi_gtx_970-_-14-127-832-_-Product

+Backplate

-Green (doesn't go with my red/black/grey color scheme)

-Most expensive of the three ($350)

-what's the difference between this and #2 and #3

I've been going back and fourth between the four and I just can't commit to any of them. If anyone has any information/ideas/recomendations for me, it would be greatly appreciated.post-170107-0-67114800-1434140137_thumb.

well I wouldn't go for the 960 with that monitor.

970 for sure.

I would go for the regular one

Don't get the GTX 960 with 4 GB of VRAM, that's a pure waste of money. You will get way better performance out of those other cards

I can't use AMD cards, I love my case but it is the worst at heat management.

I'll look into that one. I do really like the look of the red and black MSI 970. Decisions, decisions.
