Yes, although semi-modular is fine too because you will use the cables that are not modular.

snip

It is, later on you could also colour match your build with coloured cables from Cable Mod.

In terms of space, it gets rid of some of the extra cable clutter as you pick which cables to use.

In case your power supply fails you can replace it easily whereas with a non-modular power supply you'll have a harder time with the attached cable clutter.

Yes. It is more of a convenience than anything else. Less cable management to deal with. Also price has gone down since it first came out. I have worked with both. If you don't like unused cables lying around then go modular. For cheap builds I go with non modular psu's because people like my parents don't even look at the inside of the case. Also depends on the case and if it has a window. Best of luck.

But go with beautiful cables at least (extensions) or you could just go with the EVGA 850G2 wich is fully modular and looks frigging amazing

If there is not going to be an ssd in the system (and there should be one given the budget), the Hitachi hdd is a less than optimal choice. Get a unit with at least 64MB of cache.

Get a better psu. In fact, drop one of the gpu and use the resources elsewhere in the build. A better and slightly larger psu, an ssd, a better hdd.

PSU quality trumps modularity. But fully modular would be ideal.

I have an ssd in my old build which I will use and I will be gaming on 1440p with at 120hz so I need the 2 980tis

Like what?

Unfortunately there isn't much around 900W - 950W. A little on the large side, but very good quality EVGA 220-GS-1050-V1, Almost as good and a little less expensive, EVGA 120-G1-1000-VR.
