So like I was browsing and messing with the PC-Configuration thingie on their site for fun and then I saw this....

$35 for some non-stock compound...

Can like someone explain to me why because I can get a tube of IC Diamond for free and re-apply the stock compound myself..(or can I)

They're also replacing the GPU thermal paste, which is considerably more time consuming than just the CPU.

It's a laptop and the cooler is much easier to take off

A laptop is more delicate then a desktop system.

Missed that it was a laptop, you're still paying for them to do it and keep the warranty intact which is probably worth the $35 if you were going to do it yourself anyway.

When a clevo reseller replaces the thermal compounds with typically IC diamond, this requires them to actually receive the laptop (and certain configurations go strait from sager/whoever to you) and apply the paste themselves. Really, a pretty good price for all of that.

It's a laptop and the cooler is much easier to take off

Laptops tend to be far more difficult to disassemble than desktops. The cooler may be easier to remove, but the laptop itself is more difficult to get into and more time consuming as well.

That's IC Diamond 7, 7ct as opposed to 24ct which is what Enderman linked. In the US, a tube of IC Diamond 24 is $17.56.
