loss in quality!

Hey there i bought a r9 270x and i was connecting everything together and i was using the hdmi port and that was messing up like having black borders around the screen so i up scaled it and i don't like the quality of it So i switched to vga (bearing in mind when i was using vga before i had the graphics card it was all good) using the dvi to vgs as my monitor only supports vga and hdmi and there is a loss in quality and i really need help with this

From what I understood after reading this messy thing, you are using VGA. Well, VGA is basically crap.

I'm going to guess vgs is vga?

In case you didn't know this, adapters are not magical. If you use Displayport, and turn it into an VGA using an adapter, it will NOT have Displayport quality. It will have VGA quality.
