Final ship loadout

LeightonPC

It's the snub fighter on the 890 Jump.

My personal recommendation goes to the Cutlass.

Fan boy alert. You said you liked it in my other post -,-

Mate, I'm the best Cutlass pilot you're likely to ever meet.

Can they actually be flown yet? Seems a but big to be ready. That size are normally a while away.

Is that one of the leaked ones because I can't find it on the site.

The X85 is a snub fighter, and its assets were part of the leak. Here is a video on it,

Yes, yes they can. Just ask @Corwin111 or @Napper198 or @rentaspoon

Yep, I can take on any ship in my Mustang, bar the people listed in the quote above. Fett for me is a pain in the arse because I don't see anyone flying cutlasses as well as him. The thing is you can't compare him to a Hornet pilot because the ship is so different to how the other ships fly AND lives are short lived when taking on Fett.

Its not size it's seats, yes the cutlass was the first 2 seater(+) to be implemented but its not fully implemented.

As for Fett being a fanboy, 100% agree that he has a thing for the space whale but I don't think being a fanboy is a bad thing.

Nailed it

Yesterday I reviewed one on my post. I will give you as much that it is a nice ship, it does have its downsides though.

The downside of every ship can be overcome

Very true, and if you really focused on one ship, upgraded it and learnt it to fly it well. There is really no such thing as a bad ship.

Geez, lots of hostility in this thread. I like the ships included, don't really understand the mustang though.

This is coming from someone that only owns one ship, but having a starter thrown in with a few much better fighters seems like a waste.

Also, a Ghost for escort doesn't make much sense. I would wait for a sale on a SH or something better, melt the ghost and Mustang, and buy a better all-around fighter than both of the two.

Help me I'm surrounded by morons.

I think the Aurora or something is the exception for this rule.

I think @rentaspoon and his old LN would disagree with you ;)

Of course a skilled aurora pilot would beat, say, a brand new hornet pilot, but in a battle between an equally skilled hornet pilot and aurora pilot, the hornet will always win.

Yes, in a 1-to-1 dogfight, the specialised fighter ship would win. The Aurora was never intended to be a pure fighter. Sadly this is the only thing you can do now in Arena Commander. People are ditching their ships because they aren't 'good enough', but they're only seeing one aspect.

The aurora is able to do many things, but master of none. This means it is objectively inferior to all other ships. It was designed to be a starter ship and that's what it is. You said 'There is no such thing as a bad ship'. The aurora is worse at everything it does than other ships.

I never said that there is no such thing as a bad ship, but I agree (and it is a fact) that the Aurora is a starter ship. What I meant is that people might get skewed opinions about certain ships, as the only thing you can do is dogfight. Also with the REC system added, players will go for the better/more expensive ships and might forget how important it might be to have a starter ship at the beginning of the PU.

I get where you are going, yes the Aurora is a terrible alternative to, say, a Constellation, but that's where the ship tiers com into place. :)

I wouldn't say its inferior to all other ships, its a capable fighter but it can also house a jump drive and move system to system, its is a small ship so has low emissions which will make it good for evasion and also has storage space. A hornet might be a stronger fighter but it is only a short range ship, a Hull might be a better hauler but cant defend itself nor is it good at evasion, a conny has more storage, firepower and can handle long range flights but is a large ship which wont be able to pass through smaller jump points and has higher emissions and running costs etc. Everything has its pros and cons, there are no bad ships just some that are better for specific roles than others.

I have an Aurora LX specifically for low profile exploration, my 315P might be a better explorer than it but it will also attract more attention.
