YOU DIE? How does that even work and how does it feel? like how do you die? you just die?

I've committed suicide in a dream but I woke up before I could die, that would've been cool to go through death in a dream

Addendum: I've had one or two lucid dreams that weren't like that. The ones I can remember were sexual fantasies, and I would have SWORN it was real.

 

At least.....they felt like I've always imagined sex would feel (from a physical standpoint).....

I mean, one of the side effects of melatonin is vivid dreams. So I might try it seeing as I was going to anyways. I can't really fall asleep that well as it is so I want to try that. 

 

Has anyone tried melatonin? A friend of mine said he always had lucid dreams while using it but Idk

Sex in dreams is honestly better than the real thing, not that I've had the real thing, its just me and my right arm for now....

Funny, I was just thinking about dedicating myself to lucid dreaming again after my graduation from high school tomorrow. I've tried before, many times, but unfortunately, every time I've been unable to stay dedicated to it for long stretches of time, either due to school work or something. Whenever I try dream journalling, I start to remember a lot of my dreams, but then everything slips away from me and I'm back to square one. I still remember a few parts of dreams I have most nights, but it's just confusing and disorienting to try to piece them together, and I rarely get anything coherent.

 

But there's a lot of things you can do to get them. Repeating a mantra in your head as you fall asleep every night, such as "The next scene will be a dream" or something along those lines. Also, I've discovered that plugging ones nose works pretty well as a reality check.

 

*sigh* Maybe if I never learn to have lucid dreams myself, at least I can impart knowledge about them to others. Oh well. At least it's summer now, so I have plenty of time... 

 

Edit: Oh, and another frustrating thing is, both my brother and sister occasionally get vivid lucid dreams without even doing anything, and I can barely remember them in the first place. T_T

This might seem odd but you could get two lucid dreams in one night. Don't do any of that reality checks they never work and you just look stupid. As you are falling asleep start planning your dream out so think of what you want to happen and who is there and that kind of stuff. if you keep doing this until you are asleep you will dream about this. If you were not successful at this then wake up like an hour before you normally then go back to sleep. You remember everything from that dream and they also help you remember previous dreams. Finally as soon as a wake up write down your dreams. People say to and it actually helps. Plus it is fun to reread your dreams from 2 years ago. Have fun!

What are your methods? Because other thing I do is reality check often, it worked once but after it worked I could never remember to reality check, even if I tried. But yea, how do you do it? I can't really go by feel. It happened once but never again.

Well it isnt really by feel, more by lack thereof. If you feel nothing or weightless really its a dream, also if the world seems to move quickly and no sense of time. Another is smacking yourself in the face but thats a doubleedged sword as that can sometimes wake you up. You could try wearing a watch daily. Look at it in the dream, put it face down then look at it again the times should be different. But its all about self awareness.

Sleep paralysis is scary. You're in this limbo of being awake but yet asleep. You're paralyzed while in this state so you can't move or speak but you are aware. I was in sleep paralysis once and I felt a presence of a small child to the left of my bed but I couldn't move or scream for help. Just straight irrational fear that I could do nothing about. Luckily I've only been in this state like 5 times in my life and only like 1-2 or them were truly scary.

I only lucid dream or at least a majority of my dreaming I have only ever recalled I am dreaming + have the ability to control it. A lot of the time it is a blessing, sometimes not so much. :(

I mean I was able to listen to a song from that movie Inception and for some reason it made my dreams really vivid and real. the song that comes at the end. Might not work for you but it did for me. I listened to it while I was sleeping.

i had that for about 8 months where i dont remember any of my dreams then that changed and i could remember them fine.

you know whats even more scary, for the past 4 months or so when i dream usally before i wake up, i am dreaming and i could hear my surrounding/who ever trying to wake me up, when i try to wake up i do wake up, but i find i am in a different dream now, as in i was dreaming inside another dream and it gets harder to wake up from the second dream and takes me 20-30 min to wake up after some 1 tried to wake me up.

couple days ago i was in triple dreams, i woke up from 1 to find my self into another one "i got used to this by now" so i knew i am in a dream and need to wake up from it so i tried and managed to wake up, now i though i am fully awake and this is reality, few mins later i wake up for real and realize i was in another dream, that was so fking scary.
