Is the Novatouch TKL Worth It?

misthosg

Hey guys,

I have been looking at the novatouch TKL, (not buying it just looking), and would you guys say that it is worth it? I mean I honestly love the sound of the topre switches, but is it worth the $170 USD, when you can buy a K70 (non-RGB) for around $120 USD? What do you think? This is more of a general discussion, as I am not looking to replace my CM Storm as I like it alot.

Have you seen Ducky keyboards? Top notch keyboards. Everytime I go into my local "peripheal" store. It's some weird name, they overprice stuff I just go in there and try out peripheals and monitors. It's such a top notch keyboard, I sit there typing away on a .ducky Shine 3 while the workers stare at me because it's just on display.

You're practically paying for the switch , heck , it doesn't even have a wrist rest or backlight!

Yeah, the ducky shine 4 community "special edition" is $130 on massdrop, it has 2 different switch types and has custom keycaps lol

Honestly, if you think you'll get your use out of it, it's probably worth it.  I just bought a Ducky Mini with MX Brown's even though I have a perfectly fine Das Keyboard.  I'll justify the price of anything by considering if it'll give back the amount of pleasure equal to the price I paid.  e.g. If a game costs $60, will I get $60 of fun out of it?

The Novatouch uses Topre switches which somebody on the internet has compared to "typing on boobs". It's a rubber dome switch that is said to feel much more premium than Cherry MX.

If youre going to do a lot of typing and you bottom out your keys anyways get a chiclet keyboard with a wrist wrest, itll save your Carpals.

If youre doing pro gaming and youre sensitive enough to feel the key stroke then go mechanical

If you want a cheap basic keyboard that is middle of the road get a membrane keyboard

If you want a product just to say you have it..then buy whatever, its your money to waste <3

Yes its 100000000000000% worth it, Topre keys are in a league of their own. Currently using one and its so good. You won't be disappointed

If you like topre switches than it is worth it, if you don't, well then it is not. I can recommend Cooler Master though, they make very good products. The price is not that bad for a topre board, considering that other boards that use topre run you upwards of $300. I also like that it has a cherry mx compatible stem so you can get nice keycaps for it.
