Had this PC for a bit under a year now and for some reason never really took the time to overclock it, today i thought i would give it a go, never really overclocked before so read up quite a bit and watched quite a few videos.

Guess i pretty much just wanted to hear if what i have done sounds fine, im currently running at a moddest 4.2Ghz with core voltage at 1.1v, booted right away and have just run a stress test for about an hour with temps hitting 58c max, im guessing thats not so bad?

Nice. What cooler are you using?

You can probably go quite a bit further.

Using a Noctua NH-D14 with the fans currently hooked up with the ultra low noise adapters, sadly the NH-D14 doesnt come with pwm fans. Yeah thought i might be able to push it further but tbh, right now im okay with the 4.2, just to make sure everything runs stable for a while :)

Okay, not really sure but the 4690k does run cooler then the previous gen right? Atleast from what i remember hearing when i bought mine is that the 4670 and 4770k does run quite hot already.

Yeah, it has a better TIM, making the temps a bit better. So, don't expect the same from your chip, just giving my experience with Haswell xD.

Okay, but yeah im probably gonna go for around 4.4 once i know everything runs fine, especially now when summer is just around the corner and the indoor temps are gonna go through the roof :)

Yeah, my GPU load temps have gone up 10C already. Haswell is pretty comfortable up to 80C, so don't be too scared.

4.5GHz with 1.14V

I'm jelly. Mine isn't stable even at 1.285v with that clock.

We have such similar builds too xD. I barely even tried for that OC. I could probably get it lower if I took the time. However, GTAV really dislikes any OC that I do. Even if I run stress tests for a day, GTAV will still crash my OCs.

System just locked up, system log shows a critical kernal power event :( Upped the voltage a bit, not sure if that could be the cause of something like that.
