I am also curious about the infrared camera. The PS Eye does have infrared, but I believe you need to modify/remove a filter in order to make it only infrared.

But why WOULD I want to make it IR only? Besides, when I connected it to Skype back in the day, it had the option to switch to IR, I'd assume Windows Hello will use the same.

RuneScape is still the best MMO ever made.

Program on Mac | Game on PlayStation | Homelab on Ubuntu

Yeah, if you make it only IR, you can't use it anywhere else really. Scratch that then.

Possible the Kinect would work then. I might try my X360 Kinect :)

Yes. But drivers. And if you have Windows 7 system with Starter edition or something, or installed it on an old system already... might be a problem. Remember that GPU power is important in Windows 10, as even more things are GPU rendered. (Basically Start menu, notification panel, nearly all Windows programs (Music, Video, Calculator, etc). So if you have a GeForce 6600GT 128MB say... well you might have driver issues under Windows 10, and possibly, maybe, performance issues. So you want to do a quick check on that.

I used W7 drivers for 7600 GS on this PC and it works so far decently.

Well if you have something that old, chances are not even Win 7 is gonna work (I'm running Win 7 on HP nx 9420 with ATI Mobility x1600, thank you Guru3D moders) . While we're on this topic, I remember reading that Win 10 is gonna support Aero from  Win 7 which would make it more GPU demanding that 8.1 (dunno where I read it). Just in case you know, would that make it more demanding than Win 7? Just curious for the said laptop. In case that Aero is coming back.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

If you have a the original Creative X-Fi sound card, that wont' work in Windows 10. It doesn't even work in Windows 8. Heck, you can't even regret the Windows 7 drivers. Creative Labs not only did everything it can (including take downs notice) of anyone who distributed the Windows 7 drivers, and they removed all traces of it in their website. Why? Because it is out of support, and that means you should buy a new Creative Labs sound card.

This is just 1 example of possible issues that you might face once you upgrade to Windows 10. That is why I said, to have a quick look.

I had wi-fi problems in 8.1, therefore I'm using Win 7. But the audio worked in 8.1 and 7 w/o a problem (I think it has SoundMAX since day 1, not @ home to check it atm). Also some specs are different when compared to most models online, different market. We'll it's gonna be a fun day when I decide to install 10, just to see what's what.

These system specs don't tell everything.

I have an old Pentium IV (3Ghz single core, 1 gig or RAM) and it's impossible to run W8 or W10 Technical Preview on it because some security feature in the BIOS is missing.

Why is SpongeBob the main character when Patrick is the star?
