a question about tube pump/res combos.

Hey peeps,

Got a quick question. I currently own this Res: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-313-EK.

But I am now wanting to replace my pump and I realized that I could just get a pump/res combo so its all one unit, however I can only seem to find prebuilt units but I have one already.

Is it possible to go out and buy an adapter or something to fit a pump? If so can you recommend something that will do the job?

Thanks.

EDIT: I guess I just need a pump top + pump, would this work ? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-528-EK&groupid=962&catid=2141&subcat=2143

If so what pump would you recommend (CPU+Mobo loop). I need to try and keep it as small as possible while having good pressure.

I am pretty sure that you can swap the bottom part for a D5 adapter or something

I believe this is what you are looking for:

http://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs-and-acc/reservoir-acc/ek-xtop-dual-d5-xres-upgrade-link.html

There is also a DDC version but I recommend the D5 pump, it's one of the best out there.

I dont have enough room for somthing like that. It also wont be sitting on the bottom of the case, the res its self is held onto the side of the case.

If you don't have enough height room you will need to have it so the pump is separate from the res and not a combo unit. A combo unit can be mounted up off the floor or the case no problem, that part was just an adapter you still need to pump and proper mounting plates to make a pump/res combo unit, if that's what your aiming for.

To make it easier I have attached a picture here : http://imgur.com/Lfbti66.

So i need a pump top+pump that would fit there.

So somthing like this : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-415-EK&groupid=962&catid=2133&subcat=1845

Would be ideal but im not sure what parts are required for that.

Oh you have an InWin S frame!

And at closer inspection I believe you will require a new combo unit as it seems the part I linked earlier was for a DUAL pump configuration in series and not just a straight adapter from res to res combo unit.

@EK Luc might be ale to provide you some more information if there is an adapter you can purchase to fit a DDC style pump to that res but from initial view of their site I don't see to see a single pump adapter as that combo unit you linked.

It dont looks like you can get the top that allows you to turn the pump and reservoir into 1 unit.

So that means you ether spends the money needed and buy a combo or you get a pump and ether uses a short tube or just a fitting to connect them.

Yes and its my baby!... I only have a mock up build in her just now (As you can see by all the messy wires) but im now planning ahead for a proper build (maybe X99 + 980ti's).

I thought this might be the case (hah no pun intended). But the one i linked above would do the job I guess?

Thanks for the help :)

Seems I have to correct my self: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-319-EK&groupid=962&catid=2141&subcat=2143

They dont sell them as seperate tops, but as tops with reservoirs. Hence my confusion.

But I guess that still dont help you, as it is the pump that you want to replace.

And yeah, the one you linked will work fine, but maybe go with the Vario version, since its cheaper and you should not need to change the speed of the pump.

Unfortunately, we don't sell a DDC pump top adapter.  You would have to buy the whole thing.  The only thing you can re-use from your current reservoir is your tube.  So you could buy this one http://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs-and-acc/res-pump-combo/ek-ddc/ek-xres-100-ddc-mx-3-2-pwm-incl-pump.html and swap the res tube with yours.

Alright thanks, sucks that they dont sell just the bottom....  thanks for your help :)

Luk you would happen to know if I replaced the small tube with the one I have and I used the same two clips to hold it to the side of my case, do you think It would be able to support the extra weight?

I'm not sure it would be safe.  The pump vibrates so overtime I would be scared that the pump slip out of the brackets.

It would be safer to install the mounting bracket that comes with the pump/res.
