What is this freaking thing and why did I find it as a level 2?

I died from having seen it...I don't think it touched me.

It was like tree roots ripped out of the ground and impaled me just for looking at it.

 

I have looked all over and can't find it again. I think I'm level 8 now...Echoes of the past or something like that.

Where did you find it? How big was it? What did the poop smell like...... that was a joke.

My guess is you were killed by a fiend, maybe?
